Meryl & Kris Run in the European Championships

ETT athletes Meryl and Kris represented Team GB & Northern Ireland at the European Off-Road Running Championships held in Annecy, France, over the weekend of 31st May-2nd June.

The weekend started with cold, rainy weather and very difficult conditions as Kris tackled the Uphill Only Race - 7.6km with 960m of ascent on muddy, technical terrain. He finished in a superb 10th place, braving the elements, and helping secure a team 1st place for the senior men’s team in the process.

On Saturday, Meryl took the start of the Trail race - a 58km route with 3500 m of ascent in an extremely competitive field. She fought hard throughout the day, moving from 49th to 43rd position in the end and representing Team GB proudly.

Finally, Kris was again on the start line on Sunday for the Up & Down Race. This covered 16km with 960m of ascent and 1000m of descent. It was a really fast race where Kris came up against some strong competition to finish in a superb 6th place, helping the men’s team secure 2nd place in the competition.
