Our Team Defines Guiding Principles

As part of a recent team building activity among the Elite Trail Team, we’re proud to have defined team and performance principles that guide how we approach endurance training, our ethics, and our everyday behaviour.

Team Principles

What makes a good team and how do we expect to work together to improve our performance and each other’s development?

Here’s what we value:

  • Dedication - Shown through responsiveness and support of the team and teammates

  • Respect - Our teammates, the team, our reputation, and the wider trail running community

  • Trust - Fostered through support and openness of expression in a safe environment

  • Equality - A community where all are treated equally

  • Pride - Be proud of the team, be proud to be part of the team. Show this in your actions

Principles of Performance

To get results, we need to know how we approach our training and everything around it. The following principles serve as a guide for how we go about achieving our endurance goals.

Focus

Making decisions and choices that facilitate improved performance

Innovation

Open minded whilst challenging new ideas and concepts

Collaboration

Working closely with each other and with brands that align with our principles

Courage

Taking the opportunities that feel challenging (and sometimes scary) but rejecting those which risk health or longevity in the sport

Sportsmanship

Compete hard but fairly, support competitors when in need

We’ve put these principles in practice time and time again, most recently when George was able to recce the Ring of Steall course to give Chelsea invaluable on-the-ground information ahead of her race (where she secured a fantastic second place). Chelsea was also on helping duty earlier this summer, crewing for Catalin at the CCC in the Alps.
