Hugh and Keith Are Joint 4th at UTS 100k
The two ETT athletes raced each other throughout the day at the Ultra-Trail Snowdonia event, part of the UTMB World Series and one of the toughest 100k races in the circuit, resulting in them crossing the finish line together after a tough battle.
It was a challenging race for all runners with temperatures rising presenting various problem-solving opportunities at the UTS 100k for Hugh and Keith. Running against highly competitive international runners, both improved significantly on their times from 2023 even with the tougher conditions. They ran in 7th and 8th position, respectively, in the early part of the race, to then move up through the field and exchange 4th position several times. The gap grew to over 8 minutes between the two of them at around 70km into the race. However, towards the end, as they were back together, Keith and Hugh chose to cross the finish line at the same time as team mates. In the end, the top 5 runners all finished below course record in an incredibly fast race. Great results as they both build up to the UTMB World Series Finals.
