Gian Marchet Schicktanz
Gian is a Swiss ultra endurance athlete who discovered mountain running a few years ago, when he decided that a self-supported run through the Swiss Alps would be a fun idea.
Having grown up in a small village in the Engadine mountains, you could say trail running was always in Gian’s future. He played football and hockey, then switching to freestyle skiing. When he found ultra running, he wouldn’t stop: Gian won his first 100km trail race, then his second… then who knows what’s next?
Gian’s biggest goals are to win the UTMB Mont Blanc and to break the Fastest Known Time for the entire Via Alpina (Red Trail).
